And for a moment, he forgot all his elegance and refinement, all his poise and posterity. For a moment, crumpled against the shaking form of his lover, Emmrich Volkarin was simply human.
Slowly, those weak and ragged arms raised to reach around Rook, to cradle him tight against his chest in return, pressing him tighter against his body. He wasted no time, crawling into Emmrich’s lap as he pressed his fingers through his peppery hair, halfheartedly pushed back and slick with sweat, as messy as it ever got. Cradled against one another’s body, there was only comfort to be found in the space between.
