“I think it’s too late anyways. I think I’ve already painted you both on my heart. And I’m terrified.”
Dana Laidir has never been one to deny herself the things she wants. Not after going from slavery to servitude to the well-intentioned but overbearing adolescent years in the care of her adoptive aunts and uncles. Not when she’s spent adulthood perfecting how to obtain the things or people she most desires. But what she finds herself wanting the most, who she finds herself wanting, is not so easy to obtain. It’s more than the fleeting lust or desire she’s familiar with, and she knows that should scare her.

“What would Varric say if you did complain?”
Lilya pitched her voice low and put on a poor Kirkwall accent. “’No one wants this job, kid, but you’ve got it. Use what you’ve got: the team, their connections, and your skills. You don’t know when to quit, so keep going.’”
Lucanis allowed himself a quiet chuckle at her weak impression but nodded. “It’s good advice, save one thing.”
“What’s that?”
“If you don’t know when to quit, perhaps you need someone to tell you when it’s alright to stop.”
“But—”
“You’re no good to anyone if you push so hard you break.”

Summary
A rewriting of the story of Veilguard helping Rook and Taash find themselves and giving them and the story some of the depth they deserve. There will be some divergence in how events play out in the main story, but nothing that changes the main story as a whole.
I am but a humble fan who wants to see more than what we were given, so I will over invest myself.
Will contain spoilers as some chapters will be named directly after their quests in-game.

She snorts a surprised laugh, causing Taash’s eyebrows to shoot up.
“Why the heck are you wearing makeup?”
Rook swears she sees the qunari’s pupils reduce to slits before an inhuman, draconic growl emits from her throat.
“Fuck you.”
Rook hears Harding’s disappointed sigh and Bellara’s sharp inhale as Taash palms her face, lifting her head slightly before smashing it back against the stone, turning her whole world black.
(Starts after "Act 1" a few days after the double whammy dragon attacks)

Everyone bleeds, and so do Antivan Crows.
The wings are sprouting through the back, and the only thing that reminds him that he's alive is the blood, hot on his skin. The magic forces her to get on her knees, and the only thing that reminds her that she's alive is the blood dripping through her scars.
Everyone dies, and so do Antivan Crows.
Maybe, in the end, he died in the Ossuary, and it's the Demon who controls the body. Maybe, in the end, she will die — or maybe she already has, and the world simply hasn’t told her yet.
Not everyone survives the possession, but the two Antivan Crows did.
The single Demon is loud in his head, never leaving him alone. Too many Spirits are always with her, and yet she's still alone with her thoughts.
Everyone loves, in one way or another, and so do Antivan Crows.
This is a love story. -
