Clark blinks, then turns around to see a woman standing in the doorway, backlit by the gala. She’s tall, probably nearly as tall as Bruce, with medium-tone skin and long, dark hair that falls in soft waves down to her mid-back. She’s wearing a long-sleeved black dress and a set of perfect pearls. Her dark red lips are pulled up in a smirk, and her dark green eyes are set right on Bruce.
The expression on her face is…
Clark doesn’t know why, but he doesn’t like it.
“You’re a hard man to find, Mr. Wayne,” she says with the slightest hint of an accent that Clark can’t quite place.
“Miss al Ghul,” Bruce replies. “I didn’t know you were in town.”

Perhaps it was more odd that it's his only piece of armour. The whole thing seemed, manufactured somehow, like a uniform. His outfit would be best described as practical but that still felt wrong. Batman knew practical, he knew efficient, he knew function, just ask his utility belt, but he still had ears on his cowl. Batman was a symbol. This man was nothing.
Although, Bruce was looking at the man after his sword had been confiscated by Cassandra. He surely cut quite the imposing figure when he was wielding that monster.”

Once upon a time, he might’ve liked to have everything done and systematic. He wanted to be good for Batman at the start, then prove himself worthy of the name ‘Robin’ in the best way he could. He hated getting bored and loved a cold case to solve or people to analyse in order to understand them better.
Now, it was a need. He needed things done. He had to take care of something far greater than himself or his boredom. It wasn’t fun anymore. Well, it never really was fun, but either something close to that or something he could pretend was fun; it wasn’t something to relax to, something to calm his mind or occupy him. It was an ‘I have to’.
He could get out of this, but...he didn’t want to. He wanted his best friend to kidnap him and take him far away from this city and his responsibilities.
Kon smiled brightly. Tim’s lips quirked up, too, involuntarily.
“Pack up, Boy Wonder! We're leaving! Right. Now.”

“Wake up!! Alfred made pancakes!” An excited voice yelled into Bruce’s ear. He didn’t startle awake, already far too used to going through this. “Let me guess, mama sent you?” Bruce mumbled, pulling his head away from his pillow to look at Jason. The eight-year old gave a firm nod with his hands on his hips and a large grin on his lips. The boy’s face quickly switched to shock as Bruce wrapped his arms around him and pulled him down to lay down. “No! Dick will eat my pancakes!” Jason complained, trying to squirm out of Bruce’s hold as the other man pretended to fall back asleep.
“I’m just so tired, Jay. Keep me company a little longer.” Bruce says dramatically, his head falling back against the pillow as he pretends to sleep once more. Jason laughs, pushing at Bruce’s arms. “No, let me go dad! Hurry or there will be no more pancakes left!” He complains
