Summary
The seconds flew past him. He should have fallen asleep hours ago, but his mind refused to let him rest. Instead, he watched as the sun began to kiss the sky through their bedroom window, painting it orange and pink. Through the sleepless fog of his mind, Buck mused that the colour of the morning sky matched Eddie's cheeks from the night before. His cheeks had flushed as his eyes fluttered shut when his lips parted in an inaudible gasp. Buck hadn't been able to look away, not until Eddie hid his face in the crook of his elbow to keep himself quiet.
He was always quiet, even if Buck's ears were the only ones that would have heard the heavenly sounds he made. Not for the first time, Buck wondered if Eddie worried that the God he didn't really believe in would listen to his pleasure and become aware of his sins.
//
For months, Eddie and Buck have kept their relationship tucked away behind closed doors, loving each other in secret. Eddie isn’t ready to come out, but how long can they keep their relationship hidden from their family and friends?

Summary
Buck is still in shock, did that really just happen? Is Bobby really dead? A million thoughts ran through his head at once. His ears were ringing and his cheeks burned from tears. He could hear Athena scream crying something at someone but he just couldn’t pay attention to anything or anyone at the moment. His heart stung, he knew it wasn’t true but this just felt like one more person in his life abandoning him. First his parents, then Maddie then Eddie and now- oh shit- Eddie
Eddie- suddenly all of Buck's thoughts stopped and he just had one, “Has anyone told Eddie what happened?” the thought rang through his head.

Summary
Eddie stiffened. “What?” he asked.
Elaine looked up from where she was taking notes. “Buck. From what you’ve told me it seems like he’s a very integral part of both yours and Christopher's life.”
“Buck’s just my best friend,” Eddie clarified.
Elaine raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t say otherwise. I simply meant to point out you have an easier time allowing your friends in rather than romantic partners. You made that connection on your own. Is there something different about your relationship with Buck?”
“No,” Eddie snapped before he could think.

Summary
Eddie doubled over with a groan, his magic starting to hurt the more he held it back. It was like being stabbed over and over again. He turned to look one more time, hoping it had all just been a dream and he was going to wake up any moment. His magic burned through him, clawing its way to the surface. Eddie clutched his stomach as if that was going to help with the pain.
The moment his eyes found Bucks again he knew there was no holding back anymore. Grief took over, anguish and despair flooding his body.

Summary
Eddie Diaz always knew he'd go back if Sal ever needed him—and when that call came, he didn’t hesitate. Leaving Christopher behind broke his heart, but Sal had saved his life more times than he could count. This time, it was Eddie’s turn.
Nearly a year later, Eddie returns home—scarred, haunted, and far from okay. He’s survived war again, but coming back to a life he no longer recognizes might be the hardest battle yet.
Christopher, once the sweet, open-hearted boy Eddie raised, has changed. Now fifteen and freshly shaped by a year with his deeply conservative grandparents, he’s absorbed every value they’ve instilled—including the ones that clash with everything Eddie is. With Chris now carrying views Eddie never thought he’d hear from his own son, the home Eddie fought so hard to return to suddenly feels like enemy territory.
As Eddie leans on the 118 to find his footing again, he’s forced to hide the truth about who he is—especially from the one person he always thought would love him unconditionally. And just when happiness with Buck finally feels within reach, Eddie realizes that loving him openly might mean losing his son.

Summary
The words flowed from his mouth and he started to really get into it; started to really feel the music course through him. The first two verses were over before he knew it. The chorus was upon him and he channeled every single feeling and emotion he had into his voice. He finally looked at his parents, wishing for them to feel every word.
"Cause I'm too messy, and then I'm too fucking clean
You told me, 'Get a job', then you ask where the hell I've been
And I'm too perfect, 'til I open my big mouth
I want to be me, is that not allowed?""And I'm too clever, and then I'm too fucking dumb
You hate it when I cry unless it's that time of the month
And I'm too perfect, 'til I show you that I'm not
A thousand people I could be for you and you hate the fucking lotYou hate the fucking lot
You hate the fucking lot"◇◇◇◇◇
Eddies parents come to LA to surprise Eddie and Christopher and they end up getting invited to a party at the Grant-Nash house. There is judgement, there is emotional karaoke, first kisses and some dry humping later on.

Summary
“Have I ever told you about Gabriel?” Buck shakes his head.
“One of your Army buddies?”
“No, my first kiss.”
--
Buck can only hear Helena’s muffled voice from the other side of the phone. He picks up a few words. Chris. Hospital. And Buck feels like he’s suffocating, like all the air has been punched out of his lungs, like he’s being held underwater. He's reliving the tsunami all over again. “Yeah, yeah okay. I’ll be there. Bye, mom.” Eddie is running his shaking hands through his hair, eyes wide. Buck has a panicked look on his face, too scared to speak. He studies Eddie who looks like he’s figuring out how to feel. Buck caresses the crook of Eddie’s arm. That prompts the brunet to speak. “It’s my dad…He had a stroke.”
--
Eddie comes out, Ramon has a stroke, and Buck is there to support Eddie through it all as they head to El Paso. -

Summary
“Jesus, what’re they doing over there?” Evan asked, looking down the hall.
Eddie shrugged, “Bleeding from their ears probably.” Evan laughed, “Probably. I thought we were loud but that’s another level.”
“Yeah. I guess they like their music…loud,” Eddie said, narrowing his eyes as he spoke, not even sure what he was trying to say. Evan didn’t seem to notice.
“Dance seems… cool though,” Evan said, slowly. He glances at Eddie nervously as if he’s scared at the admission. Eddie perks up a little.
“Really?” He said and maybe he sounded a little too shocked because Evan looked away.
“Well, I don’t know. Kinda,” he said. He huffs and kicks his shoe against the ground. “Probably better than basketball.”
Eddie scoffed at that and Evan looked up at him. He met Eddie’s gaze and Eddie forgot what he was going to say. His eyes were blue. Like…really blue.
...
In which, Eddie and Buck meet as kids during Eddie’s national dance competition and Buck’s national basketball competition that happen to take place at the same school.

Summary
Eddie rents an AirBnB in El Paso for a while instead of buying a house (because that's crazy, Eddie slow down) and Eddie being gone means Bobby has to fill his spot. This means he has to hear Buck constantly talk about one of the new firefighters at the 118. Subsequently, his entire world turns upside-down. Right-side up?
Excerpt: “We were on our way back from a structural, and Sanchez mentioned their kid. Holy shit, Eds. If I didn’t know Jee… she was just so cute! Little blonde pigtails and everything. She and Jee are about the same age, I think Brynn is a little younger, but I’m thinking of asking Devin if she and Jee could have a playdate. I think I might die of cuteness.”
A kid with cute blonde curls. Buck loves kids.
“That sounds like a good plan. What are your plans for the next 48 off?” Eddie asks, trying to steer away from conversations that make him want to throw his phone.
“I think I’m actually going to take Sanchez up on the offer to join them on a hike. They haven’t been since they got in from Seattle and so I figured I would take them on that trail that we took Chris that one time?"

Summary
Buck can hear raised voices. Chris looks stricken.
“She’s realised that I’m talking to you. Oh she’s really angry. Buck? Can you stick around. And put yourself on mute. I’m just gonna.”
Chris flips the camera so Buck can see the room instead of Chris’ face. Chris opens his bedroom door slightly and holds his phone to the gap. Eddie fills the screen. He’s in a black tank top, similar to the one he was wearing the day Buck met him. His hair is damp. His mouth is curled in irritation. He’s looking across the room, probably at Helena. It dawns on Buck that Eddie and Helena don’t know that Chris is watching, that he is watching.

The whole room collapses into silence as Chris stands. “Stop talking like that right now. You know nothing. Nothing!” The teen is vibrating in his rage and all heads are turned to him.
“You don’t get to say shit about Buck. You know nothing about him. You have never cared to ask, to find out how wonderful he is. How important he is. If you had, you would know that he is the best thing to happen to us, both me and dad.”
