Summary
The drywall in Buck’s new apartment was more fragile than he thought it would be.
His fist went through it easily, catching and scraping the skin of his hand with a pricking shock of pain that wasn’t nearly enough to ground him. There was a joke there, somewhere, about places not being built like they used to be, but instead, jaw clenched, he reeled back and switched direction, slamming the flat of his palm against his fridge hard enough to send a more satisfying ripple up his arm, jarring his shoulder. Gasping, he let himself tilt forward until his forehead pressed into the cool metal of his freezer door.
Breathe, he tried to tell himself. Get a fucking grip, Buckley. But the voice sounded like his father’s, and his mind skittered around it.or, in seperate ways, Buck and Eddie don't react well to the realization

Summary
Buck straightened up, looking Eddie up and down. “I’d still take you.”
“You think?”
“I know.” he said, puffing out his chest. They both laughed, and Buck looked down at his feet, before looking earnestly back up at Eddie. “Thank you,” he said quietly, “for having my back”.
Eddie smiled despite himself. “I’ll see you in there, Buckley, and maybe you can have mine.”
It's Eddie's final chance to volunteer for the games. This was always the plan: get in, win, get out. No waves. Christopher is taken care of for a lifetime. In walks Evan "tsunami" Buckley to ruin all his plans.

Summary
Barefooted, Eddie entered the kitchen, opening the door and closing it behind him. He rubbed his face, frustrated, telling himself it was to wash the sleepy numbness away, but all he wanted to do was to rip off that image from his skull, to bleach out the anguish that came with it and forget the day before had ever happened.
He should have known. He wished he had known. Maybe if he had, things would have been different; Christopher wouldn’t have fallen off the truck, and Buck wouldn’t have jumped off after him to wander for hours restlessly, looking for him till collapse.
Maybe if Eddie had known, he could have gone to their rescue, and neither would have suffered the living nightmare they did; or rather, they wouldn’t have undergone as much agony as they did. Just alleviating a thousandth part of it all would have been enough, a release for them and less guilt for himself.
If only he had known.

The memory of Buck and Christopher arriving at the hospital the night after the tsunami is still haunting Eddie. His parents decide to pay him an unexpected visit that will end with secrets being revealed. Chaos ensues.

Before today Evan would’ve tried to fight it. He would’ve called Ice and asked him for a favor, but now? Now, he’s ecstatic. He is finally ready to go back. Mentally and physically. But first Evan has to quit his job.
Or
After the tsunami, the PE, and the lawsuit, Station 118 doesn't feel like home anymore. So Buck's ecstatic to get the call to action from Admiral Kazansky. A 9-1-1 x Top Gun: Maverick Crossover AU.

Summary
Time seemed to stretch, the world narrowing into a pinpoint.
There she was.
Shock hit him first. She looked different. Hair scraped back in a messy bun, face pale and tired, dark circles bruising her eyes.…it all triggered memories he had tried so hard to lock away. The fight, the betrayal, the night she’d outed him…he hadn’t even let himself think about her for two years. And now, here she was, holding a baby cradled in her arms.
Eddie’s breath caught. His hands slackened at his sides. The air felt thick, heavy, impossible to move through. He could barely process the sight of her, the sound of her voice, the soft whimper of the child.
“Shannon?” His voice came out rough. “What…what are you doing here?”
Her eyes met his, tired and full of something that looked a lot like guilt.
“Hey, Eddie,” she said softly. “We need to talk.”
Or, Eddie Díaz finally has everything under control…his career, his relationship…but when his past shows up on his doorstep holding a baby and a thousand unanswered questions. Between the tabloids, the team, and Buck’s new life at the 118, holding it all together might be Eddie’s toughest game yet.

Summary
“Yeah, I can still take you.” Buck replied, leaning against the door.
“You think so?” Eddie asked as an odd feeling, almost like deja vu, swept through him.
“I know.” Buck looked at him expectantly. “You wanna go for the title?”
Suddenly, Eddie was thrust back in time. Six years back, exactly, to a conversation in the kitchen of Buck’s old loft. Buck standing in front of him, one hand on his belt, Eddie holding a beer. The two of them, holding each other’s gaze for a few seconds longer than necessary. The swooping feeling in his stomach that he pushed down, ignored, refused to acknowledge.
----------
In which Buck and Eddie make a bet on the way to Nashville for the firefighter competition, and Buck says six little words that make Eddie recontextualize everything.
