Summary
It's a well-known fact among cities like Metropolis, Central, and Star, if Gotham claims you there's no escaping it.
Those who have lived in the cursed city don't often leave, most choosing to spend their entire lives there. The few that do try always find themselves returning, telling friends and loved ones that they MISSED the crime filled nightmare metropolis. Sometimes they're saved, sent by concerned friends and family to therapy or clinical institutions to try and save them from the strange darkness that lures them back.
But either way, they're never the same.
And those are only the regular, everyday citizens.
