Summary
Tim awoke within a room that was stale aired, pitch black, and completely soundless. He was ill, and even if he HAD been able to move, the shackle around his ankle meant he would not be leaving anytime soon. As far as Dick knew, he was dead, and that put him at Jason's mercy. To make matters worse, the man was dead-set on him being his personal plaything, a pet of sorts...
At first, Tim wants nothing more than to get strong enough to make an escape. But after a while, once he's truly gotten to know the former Robin, he's not quite so sure he wants to leave anymore. Or if Jason could take it if he did- of course, that's when everything falls apart.
Tim knows he's not the same person he was before the bunker- and he can't go back to being him either. He's never going to let anyone control him, keep him locked up, ever again... he refuses.
But Gotham needs Batman- and Jason is the only one willing to shoulder that burden.
Tim has always said that Batman needs a Robin- but it looks like it's Jason that needs a Tim...

Summary
After a difficult year (for many reasons) Tim goes back to Gotham to help Jason Todd reconnect with his family. Whether Jason wanted that or not, well, Tim had time to wear him down. Between the tutelage of Deathstroke and Lady Shiva, he was well equipped to handle himself as Jason's equal and hit Gotham's vigilante scene as the Buzzard. His parents were dead and the lonely cavity in his chest kept growing every day, but it didn't matter. Tim's mission could and would succeed despite his personal feelings and failures. He was fine and he had a job to do.

Summary
After Bruce's disappointment over his lapse in judgment over Harkness, Tim retires from the role of Red Robin, disassociating himself with the family that seemingly no longer needs or trusts him.
Though ultimately deciding that between his physical health and mental exhaustion he should not be out in the field any longer, he refuses to be useless. His own family might have dropped the ball when it came to helping him when he truly needed the support, but he was going to make sure that it didn't happen to anyone else in the future that found themselves in a similar position, and that everyone else who had been blatantly left behind finally found themselves with the support system they deserved. He would take a page from Barbara's book and expand on it- make it his own, and ensure both the safety of his people, as well lessen the potential for collateral damage.
There had to be a better way to handle their comrades turned anti-heroes. Dismissal wasn't it. He was not going to let them fall through the cracks, fall victim to their vices, or die alone on some rooftop because everyone else had forsaken them.
He was going to make sure they never had to go it alone.

It was easy to figure out that Jason Todd was the Red Hood and even easier to figure out what came next.Jason wasn’t really doing much to hide his plans—Tim could see how he hated the Bats and could hear every comment he made about the newest Robin and it was obvious he was planning something.
The guns on his hips didn’t leave him much doubt as to what those plans were.
The hard part was coming to terms with it.
The hard part was looking himself in the mirror and knowing he was living on borrowed time. It was going out each night looking for a red helmet, only ever seeing it hidden in shadows behind him—always watching, always waiting. It was staring at his laundry basket and wondering if he should take care of that or if he’d have a bullet in his skull before he could move it to the dryer.

Tim figures out that Jason is going to kill him so he can take back his rightful place and join the family again.
He decides to do the only reasonable thing and minimize the fallout of his death before it occurs.
According to Jason, this is the wrong thing to do.

It's okay though, because he has a plan for this, he just needs someone to play the role of his estranged "Uncle Eddie".
Except... the guy he hires is weirdly concerned about his well being and Tim can't figure out why.
Meanwhile, Jason Todd is forced to reevaluate his plans for his debut as Red Hood, because, as it turns out, his replacement is a suicidal idiot who can't be trusted to stay out of trouble.
OR
Tim Drake fails to recognize Jason Todd, back from the dead, and hires him to be his Uncle Eddie to avoid getting adopted by Batman. Somehow this ruins everyone's plans.

When he joins their family, he is determined for this to work, it needs to work. The only problem is- Tim has watched them for years, and he knows the second they find out he’s a meta, he wont be allowed to be Robin anymore; he can’t let that happen. Batman needs a Robin.

Summary
Tim knew, sitting there on a cold wooden stool that creaked with each of his movements even if he barely shifted his weight, that this was stupid. He had things to do back at the manor, back in the cave, and people counting on him besides. He wouldn't, no, didn’t think about who exactly those people were, because then he’d never get up off this damn stool again. Just like Jason, he scolded himself, You’re throwing a hissy fit just like Jason.
But he couldn’t quite convince himself of it.
This didn’t feel like all the times Jason ran off in a fit of temper, no, this is a different beast that Tim was contending with. Exhaustion on top of exasperation absolutely layered in disappointment.
It was in how he found himself sitting in a grimy Gotham bar less than an hour from its set closing, having a midlife crisis, without anybody to call. If he had called anybody, any one of his contacts, they’d likely tell him that he’s too young for a midlife crisis. But they, as people who clearly knew nothing much about Tim’s life, thanks, could fuck right off.
If they called, that’s what he’d say: go fuck yourself.
