In the process of uncovering these secrets, Regulus discovers there’s one thing he wants more than anything else in the world, more than his brother’s love, maybe even more than James’s love: power.

Maybe a bit of a dramatic way of saying it, but currently it felt appropriate as without Sirius at home his mother was discussing "finally" integrating him into the Death Eaters. The only thing that seems to break him back into reality is the phenomenon of James Potter and his inability to take a hint.

“I mean,” James surveys the room, all three of his friends still looking at him, “Regulus was acting a little weird in the library today.”
“Weird how?” Remus asks, as both him and Peter move closer to join them on Sirius’s bed next to James’s.
James shifts uncomfortably under their stares, feeling like he’s being interrogated. “I don’t know–there was just a vibe. I don’t want to step on any toes here Padfoot but I think he was flirting with me.”
Sirius snorts, “yeah okay, real weird there, Prongs.” Sirius shakes his head.
James blinks. That sure wasn’t the reaction he thought Sirius would have at that.
Or, after James hits his head trying a risky quidditch move, there's a few things he's feeling quite confused by. Example being, one Regulus Black is acting far too friendly with him and no one seems to be batting an eye. The first logical step to take is for James to do his best to woo his best friends brother.
