“It’s the day you were born,” Shuichi countered gently, his eyes unwavering. “A day you get to experience another year of life. That’s something to acknowledge, at least.”
“But what if it’s not even my birthday” Himiko glared. “What if it’s fake, just like everything else. I don’t know. You don’t know.”
Shuichi opened his mouth to object, but Himiko continued.
“But… even still, I can’t help but feel as though I’m doing something I shouldn’t be. Existing, breathing.” Himiko choked out, tears welling in her eyes. “I feel as though I’m taking from all the people who didn’t get another day. From everyone who died. They did so much, they earned their right to exist. So why. Why am I the one who’s seeing another year alive!?” Her voice rose to a near shout, the raw pain tearing through her.

Ouma Kokichi was expecting to die as the hydraulic press crushed his entire body. However it didn't take long for him to realize he was still alive.
He wakes up in a moving bus headed to a prestigious institution known as Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. Not only that, but he woke up in a new body, that of a high school girl named Sakura Airi.
He couldn't say he was happy with the change, but it was better than being dead in his eyes. But, how would he adjust to the new life given to him? Will he be able to adapt into the competitive nature in this unknown environment? Is he truly free from his past?
And finally why is this brown haired boy with a face he couldn't discern interested in him?

Saihara laughs and laughs and laughs. It hurts. He really did get hit by a car, even if it was on purpose. “Kaito,” he gasps, drool collecting in his jaws. Ah, he could die. He could die like this. Danganronpa in the flesh in front of him; what could ever be lovelier? He needs it. He needs it like he needs air. He’ll die without it, he really will. “Kaito. Am I unloveable? Am I really—ah—so disgusting that I’m beyond saving?”
“Yeah,” Kaito spits, eyes dark and burning. “Yeah, you fucking are.”
If it’s him saying it, it must be true. Kaito, who was made to believe in everyone, who pulled Saihara Shuichi out of darkness, who put his faith in the Ultimate Assassin and forged a dying pact with Ouma Kokichi. Even he can't find anything worth saving in Saihara now.
After the game, some find it harder to adjust than others. The rest want nothing to do with Danganronpa, but Saihara will never get enough of it.

He worked at a little cafe, nevermind that it's minimum wage, and that he's barely scraping by. He had surprisingly good friends the he could trust, who have much more of a life than he has at current. And most importantly of all, wasn't recognized by anyone as the former SHSL Supreme Leader; all was well.
