A few years ago, the artificial intelligence within animatronic mascots had finally gone too far; with their sentience they had demanded to be given a free life kept out of their reach, to become more than the slaves that they were forced to become. The rebellious mascots became branded as "runaways", and the establishments responded directly with a war that had snaked itself around the globe, into homes and the families within.
