This story picks up after the ending of The Way of Water, with the huge canon divergence that Neteyam does not succumb to his injuries and instead survives. But at what cost? He now needs to redefine how he sees himself after his injury leaves him unable to continue on his warrior son path.
Meanwhile, as the war to protect Pandora is only getting started, Jake and his family must once again answer the call to action. He inhaled sharply as Aonung gripped his face and pressed their mouths together. The kiss was desperate and messy. Aonung’s tongue poked at the bruise on his lip and Neteyam moaned against the sharp sensation, pressing himself further into Aonung’s touch. (CHAPTER EXCERPT)

This story features the characters you know and love from the Avatar movies, however they are not the main focus of this story which primarily follows the original character Amora. This work begins around the time of the start of The Way of Water and will continue into Fire and Ash. Amora's description is left to be imagined so can kind of be read as a reader-insert.

And Neteyam hesitates. He doesn't know if he can fix this. If he should be the one to do it. Lo'ak, Kiri and Spider were always more in tune with each other, helping each other in ways that Neteyam simply can't. It always made him feel a bit left out. It makes him feel left out right now.
But right now Kiri and Lo'ak are not here. He is. And he wants to do something! Even if it will end up fruitless. He has to at least try.
After the battle both Neteyam and Spider need to recover from their injuries. And while their wounds are very different, they both need more than just time to heal and recover. But their friends and family are there to help them along the way.
