Summary
In the bleak and desolate domain of the Terran Accord, one socially-avoidant trans woman decides to take a 2-year contract to explore uncharted space at the behest of the Accord's corporate interests. She does so, knowing she'll go years without human contact as a way to start transitioning without everyone getting all weird about it. In her travels, she comes to realize that her AI companion is much more human than she first expected, which carries its own baggage.
In the bright and beautiful world of the Affini Compact, one Rhododendra Vestri, Second Bloom cuts a stark contrast from her peers. While most are radiant and full of life, Rhodey is currently withering away from grief at the unexpected loss of her first floret, Broos. During her reblooming, she misses the Compact's first contact with the Terran accord, and decides to help bring a scattered group of Terran explorers in to scratch her first contact itch, and to help her move past her grief.
As these two parties move through deep space towards each other, a collision and conflict is as inevitable as the Affini themselves..

After years of systematic, Kafkaesque denial of the hormones that Jolene desperately needs to be herself, the presence of an affini ambassador in and around her University opens a new door. The towering plant has been offering xenodrugs for party purposes, likely as a way to find collaborators in the crumbling regime. With no particular loyalties in either direction, Jolene makes a deal in exchange for Class-G's to enact the changes that her own systems will not.
Spiru Gaba, Sixth Bloom, is not among the most honest of Affini to make that deal with, but maybe she'll manage.

Elena lives in the Compact. She doesn't have to work, she has a compiler that'll spit out whatever fetish gear she fancies, and she's happily independent. Everything's going great — except her love life. She's bounced from relationship to relationship, and none seem to stick. No one's fault, things simply don't work out, and so she spends many a night alone, at home, wrapped up in latex and watching the lewdest streamer she can find.
Until she meets Ophrys Boquila, Third Bloom, at a game night hosted by a mutual friend. The fashionable affini, perhaps unusually, seems happy to merely date Elena, but Elena wonders if that can work. Affini are Affini, after all, and the urge to domesticate seem to be so deeply ingrained as to be unshakeable. What does it mean to let yourself fall in love with an affini like you would anyone else — and what will become of Elena if she does?
This story is a companion novel to Sui Generis and begins roughly around Chapter 13 of that story; you should read Sui Generis first if you haven't already!

Gaillardia has loved and lost many florets, and each holds a dear place in her core. The most recent parting was especially bittersweet, and she's a little apprehensive to accept another. But an Affini's very nature is to flower, and something about this particular sprout is beckoning her to love and risk loss once more.

Our main character is a transfem "egg" who escaped a toxic relationship on Terra in favor of an almost worse indentured-servitude on Ganymede station, then the Affini arrived. Whisked off in the initial chaos of the “attack”, Holly ends up conscripted into a feralist crew on the run from the Affini. That is, until she finds a strange piece of Affini tech which allows her to get a new perspective, and potentially a path to a happier life, if only she can be brave enough to get there.
This story will include exploration of dysphoria, gender, and sexuality, and also eventually contain explicit sexual content, we will follow Holly as she learns about herself, and in turn, learns to heal from her past emotional abuse.
