Summary
Buck can finally see it now, he's invisible, even in a crowded firehouse he was alone. He's always been alone, and maybe that's all he's going to get in his life.
It's his fault anyway for filing that lawsuit and hurting the closest thing he can call family. He lost them all in one fell swoop, destroying his relationship with each of them.
Contrary to what everybody thinks, he can take a hint. He's just a colleague to them now, if that's what it took to make them happy then Buck will step back and let them live their life.
(A.K.A. Post lawsuit Buck taking a step back from the 118, and in the process finds himself getting to know the other firefighters in the 118)

Summary
(The Lawsuit happens before the Tsunami)
“How did you get that bruise?” Eddie froze halfway out the door. “ Did you get that last shift? Or-”
Buck's words get caught in his throat by the glare that Eddie gives him. “Shut up Buckley,” Eddie steps closer to him, voice lowered. “you don't get to know shit about me any more.”
Buck felt his heart tore itself apart at Eddie's words “But, Eddie I was just-”
Eddie plants his finger on Buck's chest, “Stay out of my life Buckley.” He pushed away and stepped outside the apartment, closing it with slightly more force than necessary.===========
During the Tsunami, Buck managed to save Chris, but he didn't manage to save himself.

Summary
He heard Buck soft footsteps approach him, “Hey Chris, what do you want to do today?” Buck smiles at him, though his smile looks a little tight.
“I want to see the sea!” Chris has been longing to go to the pier, unfortunately his dad has been very busy as of late. So maybe Buck can go with him?.
Buck's smile turns wider as he ruffles Chris' hair, “okay, we can do that. But have you eaten breakfast yet?”
Chris shook his head, Dad overslept this morning and is in a rush trying to find someone to take care of Chris all the while packing both his and Chris’s bag. So unfortunately, they both missed breakfast.
Buck stands up, “well we can't have that” he moves toward the kitchen. “Do you have any requests?”
“Ice cream!” Chris immediately said.
“We can't have ice cream for breakfast Chris.” Chris pouted, which just made Buck laugh.” Tell you what, how about we eat some real breakfast now. And then when we go to the pier we can get ice cream?”
Chris perked up and nodded, “Yes! Thank you Buck”
