Summary
When Enver Gortash meets the The Dark Urge he learns that she is his old friend who was once a playful, witty poet despite the darkness within her. On one hand he loves what a clever and capable being she has become—but Bhaal has sucked the life and personality right out of her, even seizing away her name. Gortash will stop at nothing to convince her to take back her name and be everything he believes she truly wishes to be.
Under instruction from her Father, Durge forms an alliance with the Banite, plotting with him while also doing what she can to make him realize what a vile thing she has become. But he only admires her prowess and expresses desire for her. Durge fights back against his advances and his insistence that there is still more to her than being the figurehead of an evil god. But something deep inside of her stirs…
…and she finds she craves to be whole again.
Oh brighter to have never loved
Than gather ghosts of the blinding
Relentless sun idealized in you
And I can't bear to see
Unbecoming of me
