Summary
For a moment all that could be heard was the near silent ticking of Watson’s wall clock, “Dr. Durham, I must say you did some incredible work today,” Watson starts a knowing smile on his face. “You did not mention, you had emergency knowledge.”
Xander held his gaze, confused, “Did not mean to, how you say… overstep anything sir.” Xander mutters before ducking his head to look at his ever-steadfast service dog that leaned against his wheelchair unmoving, Athena’s eyes watching Watson like a sentry protecting a valuable object.
“Not at all, but pray tell me Doctor Durham, why did you not mention your advanced knowledge in emergency medicine.” he asks, not accusing, just deeply curious, “We have been acquainted for months now, your knowledge could have been much sooner here at the Holmes Clinic.”

The southerner looks up from her desk, “Ya never seen garland before, Aussie?” she questions and Xander shakes his head.
“Maybe few time in big city, but little where we moved most. Many used popcorn, till wildlife ate it, decorated mostly with flora at home.” he explains gently reaching to touch it with a finger tip.
“Why you are in for a treat Alexander Durham, Christmas in America is an experience—”
“An unnecessary one.” A voice chimes in from behind dull and deadpanned and the characteristic thwump of a go bag discarded. On the desk across from him.
“Why good mornin to you too Miss Ebenezer Scrooge!” Sasha drawled with a slight smirk.

"I've had some bad therapist, therapy never worked for my father. He ended up getting into a crash.” His voice was low, matter of fact as if admitting it without emotion would help him not fall apart.
There’s a deep pause…
Then…
“You suspect it wasn’t an accident.” Xander states, it wasn’t a question, it couldn’t be in this context. He knew the shape of this kind of loss far too well, how the grief left a wreck behind and people watching call it coincidence.
Stephens clears his throat, but nods, “Yeah, I do.”

“You are such an old man.” She can’t resist jokingly slapping his shoulder but doesn’t out right refuse so Xander of course starts shuffling.
“How Americans say… Guilty as charged?” he asked, endearingly confused, yet also quirking an eyebrow in that teasing way he only gets with her.

This fandom needed a Sasha-centric fic called Ruthless Bitch that touched on her relationship with Ingrid. A better writer didn't write one, so I did. Also featuring an expanded role for Gigi.

Summary
“Sasha, no. You do realize we can’t stand each other right” Ingrid said firmly though her eyes did linger to where Xander was working on his rounds for just a moment before snapping back to the younger specialist.
“Please hon, I see the way ya look at him; especially when chaos arises, like he’s the only thing anchoring you, and keeping you from killing someone else.” The teasing was out of her voice now, replaced with a gentleness which someone as tough as Ingrid hated. She hated admitting weakness. Hated admitting needing others' help, she preferred being alone, she was a medically diagnosed sociopath after all, and Durham— well he wasn’t much better.
