The main character is transported sometime in April 2021, before Bloodline came out (since that was when I began on the story). As such, he has no awareness of canon knowledge after Wintersteel. However, knowledge from after Wintersteel still plays a role in the story, characters, plot, and worldbuilding, which presents a thin line of a path that the main character has to figure out on his own.---

A self-insert fic in which the author overthinks magic, the Thu'um, and how best to translate a video game world into something not constrained by levels and systems. Canon compliance will be attempted, but only to the extent that the author actually knows it (which is not much).

Summary
About a year after graduating high school, the Fujimaru twins are sought out for the opportunity of a lifetime: a job at Finis Chaldea for which they are uniquely suited. A(n alleged) chance to do much good in the world, with a staggering salary and impossible benefits - including a chance to learn magic?? (Well, magecraft.)
Rika is 1000% on board even before the recruiters punch through concrete and make stuff out of thin air; Ritsu is suspicious before the demonstration, wary and on guard after, and not about to let his sister get swept up in some shady stuff by herself. And so they arrive on a snowy mountaintop, do some (incredibly realistic and weirdly intense) VR training, make two new friends (three, counting one adorable fluffball), and narrowly avoid the Director's ire during orientation.
All in all, a solid start at the Security Organisation for the Preservation of Humanity!
Nothing could possibly ruin this!

The year: 1431 AD. The nation of France suffers catastrophe during a lull in the Hundred Years' War. The dead wander amongst ruined fortifications and bear down upon those yet to fall, torn from their rest by foul magics; dragons freely roam the skies, bathing the living in hellfire.
Orléans has fallen; King Charles has been slain. The culprit: the former saint burned at the stake mere weeks prior, arisen from the ashes as the Dragon Witch they labelled her.
This is the site of the first Singularity of the Grand Order, and the second in which the newly christened Team R finds themselves. With nought but their experiences in the ever-burning city and barely two weeks of training besides, the last forces of humanity may struggle to rise to this new challenge.
… ignoring them having a Winged Serpent, the Lady of the Lake, and the Caster King of Knights amongst their ranks. Said Serpent's uncanny knowledge of the situation, enemies and potential allies probably won't hurt either.
The Hundred Years' War of Evil Dragons 100% speedrun is a go.

Kadoc Zemlupus. Combat mage specialising in anti-beast magecraft. The only 'normal' magus on Team A (by Chaldea's standards).
In the typical world of Fate/Grand Order, his neuroses led him to resent the ordinary human that completed the Grand Order with no magecraft ability. That the Russian Lostbelt he was assigned was the first dismantled by Fujimaru Ritsuka despite his and his Servant's best efforts only made things worse. Yet as fate would have it, Kadoc would end up rejoining Chaldea and becoming a key ally in the latter stages of Novum Chaldea's battle against the Human Order Revision.
Though circumstances and opportunities may differ between worldlines, his core remains the same: a young man who wants, more than anything, to prove his worth.

This 'United Roman Empire' has already claimed half of the Roman Empire's territories. With even the Red Rose unable to stop their advance, their claim on the capital is but a matter of time.
This is the site of the second Singularity of the Grand Order. The scope might be even larger than the two before it, but with their training, experience, new teammates and new allies (and, of course, foreknowledge), Team R should hopefully have this well in hand.

Shirai Kuroko is a very dedicated hard worker. Dedicated to working as little as possible, as easily as possible, that is. Some people might even call her lazy. If she cared to argue, she might call that a little unfair and protest that she's just efficient... if she cared to argue, anyway.
It's just a shame that Academy City seems determined to give a poor girl no end of trouble. Overbearing secret bosses, dangerous conspiracies, very enthusiastic friends, far too many delinquents and hooligans mucking about... Man, being reborn in the story she vaguely remembers with the power to make things easier was supposed to be, well, easy, wasn't it? And that's not even counting the mad scientists and magic weirdos up to no good!
What a drag.
Gotta do something about it, though, or it's just gonna be an even bigger headache.
And Shirai Kuroko works hard at not working hard.
