Summary
Ryu Rumi, eighteen years old, beloved idol in training, died on a cloudy Friday afternoon.
Nobody ever found her, there was no funeral.
But Ryu Rumi, hunter apprentice and pop star heiress, died on a cloudy Friday afternoon in a small hotel room, and someone else walked out.
A year later, twenty year old 'Yun Jia' has a small apartment, two dead end jobs, and a mystical shield tugging on her throat like a leash to pull her back to a home that has moved on without her. Despite HUNTR/X being the most popular Kpop duo in Korea, Jia has never listened to a single one of their songs, or gone to a show, or watched an interview.
Because Yun Jia is a coward. A nobody. But she's alive while Ryu Rumi is dead, and that's all she thinks will make her happy.
Because Ryu Rumi, beloved friend and one of the most important people in the world, died when she was eighteen, when Yun Jia left her corpse in a hotel room in Seoul, and walked out wearing her skin.
But now she's a ghost, and she won't go away.

Summary
Mira and Zoey have known since the beginning that their harmony would never be complete. The Honmoon never picked a third hunter. She could be dead for all they know.
Rumi has lived in the demon realm all her life, with a voice so powerful that it turns demons to dust and opens passageways in the Honmoon. The demons fear it, leaving her well enough alone. Gwi-ma tolerates her jabs because he cannot control her. Rumi is sick of the constant terror that seems to always follow her around, she could tell half of Gwi-ma's court to jump into a lava pit and they would scramble to do it.

Rumi is a liar and a fraud who wants nothing to do with the life she has been born into.
She shouldn't want to keep going back to the human world, but is it really such a bad thing? All she has to do is avoid the new generation of hunters and it'll all be fine.

Mira fell a long time ago; however, remains oblivious to other possibilities. Zoey longs for both of them, but she feels invisible. And Rumi doesn’t think she deserves anything from them, no matter how much she secretly wants them back.
In the wake of Gwi-Ma’s death, Jinu takes advantage of the chaos to abduct Rumi into the dark lands below the Honmoon.
Mira and Zoey will risk everything to get Rumi back.
(And Celine attempts to unfuck herself.)
Or: Mira and Zoey go on a rescue mission together. Forcing them to confront their past misunderstandings about how they feel, lean on each other to stay alive and face the reality of what it will cost them if they fail to get their girl back.

Gwi-Ma never makes deals to bring back the dead, for good reason. The universe demands balance, and has rules in place to maintain said balance, rules which are not meant to be broken no matter what. But then, a Hunter goes down, and Gwi-Ma now has an opportunity to acquire two (maybe even three) Hunters’ souls. And in what universe would an all-powerful greedy entity give up such a golden opportunity?

Mystery will do anything to protect Abby, even if it means falling into Gwi-ma's clutches.
