Summary
On a trip to Boston, Taylor Hebert and her father were caught in the middle of a battle between the Teeth and the Boston Protectorate. In her panic to protect her father, Taylor may have made an ill-advised decision, suffocating Butcher XIV. Now that she's become the new Butcher, Taylor took a careful look at her options before deciding that the only reasonable decision would be to join the Brockton Bay Wards. Surely this plan has absolutely no problems.

Some unfortunate timing leads to a ping midway through Taylor's Double Trigger.

Taylor's first night out goes horrifically wrong. After an accident, she winds up with fourteen voices in her head, marking her as Butcher XV. This certainly complicates her planned heroic career, but sometimes you have to take refuge in audacity.
This is a slight AU where the Teeth returned to the Bay in summer of 2010, causing mayhem and havoc as they set up shop. Taylor's life didn't change too much from these events, even if the junior Teeth were slightly more agreeable at school than the Merchants had been. Then again, they still didn't lift a finger to help her when she was shoved into the locker. Her first night out happens a bit earlier than canon, causing a few interesting butterflies.

It all started on that fateful summer day. Dad sent me to a girl scout camp only to rush me back home because Emma got into an emergency. Both Alan and Zoey died in an ABB attack, so dad, as Emma’s godfather, decided to take her in and raise her in her parents’ stead. He resonated with Emma’s grief for her family. But Emma changed, became more hateful. She started bullying me when we started our freshman year at Winslow. And she kept escalating. And I couldn’t do anything about that. Dad said it’s just friendly teasing, that I should toughen up. Then she killed my dog. She killed my fucking dog! And stole Sophia’s first kiss. And then stole Sophia from me and they started bullying me together. Until one day, she ran home with a triumphant expression to tell me Sophia is a cape, and that soon she’ll be too. She drank a dark vial in front of me and started glowing. That was the last time I saw her in person.
