A week before all of this, on a faraway island named Hummingbird Peak, cadets Rover, River, and Ivy have just been announced that the mission was going to take place. But when they find out that the purpose of the mission was to get rid of the mysterious, cursed dodo birds haunting their island, things change. Rover, who had encountered the mysterious birds before, is afraid of seeing them again. River, whose mother forbade him to go near them, is put off.
