Accepts that this, everything he had ever worked for, is how it will end. He was tired. He is so tired, and they are dying so what difference does it make, then, that the apologyacceptanceplea was wrong. But he was trying, he still chose Viktor over everything else, and that means something. Jayce still cares enough to try, because at the end, all they have is each other. Viktor cannot fault Jayce for finally listening to his heart. Jayce had clawed his way to Viktor, so Viktor held him tight. So he forgave, because Jayce decided to stay.
Their foreheads rest together and Viktor breathes a sigh of near-relief that at least it is over.

Trying to hide his supernatural ails and struggling to keep the pieces of his life together enough not to burden his friends, a voice begins to come to him in his sleep, promising a better world for dreamers like him. Movement with freedom. No more nightwash. A world that was shaped for things like him.
The pack graduates from Aglionby and go to begin their lives of college and adulthood, and Kavinsky is left alone to his own devices. Sick of the excuse of a life he's been living, he gives in to the wills of the mysterious dreamer sharing his nights, and discovers he is, for better or worse, much less alone than he believed.
