“..Ok,” Jyn said, nodding. “Ok.” She looked up at him, meeting his eyes, and he saw in them the same spark she’d had before leaving for Scarif. “And when we reach them, we continue the fight.”
He nodded, cracking a smile. “You’re still in the fight, now, are you?”
“Of course,” she said, matching his smile. “I couldn’t face myself if I backed out now.”
…Force.
He was in love with her.In which Cassian and Jyn alone manage to escape Scarif and have to work together to get back to the Rebel base in time to blow up the Death Star!

“I’m your favorite heating unit,” she repeated. “That might actually be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard you say.”
“What,” he said, shrugging. “I’m exhausted. Anyway, it’s true.”
Jyn smiled.
“..Uhm, there was something I was going to ask you..” Cassian said a few seconds later, sounding confused like he was trying to remember what it was.
“—That’s ok,” Jyn said, “I’m sure you can ask me later..”
“Oh, yeah,” he said, ignoring this, “it was just, um—last night, you seemed really tired, and I wasn’t sure if that was all it was, or if..if you were still sick or, maybe something else going on..?”
“—No,” Jyn said, though her chest squeezed with nervousness as she lied. “No, I was just tired. I’m fine. I mean, maybe it was left over from being sick, but..no, I’m fine.”
“..Ok,” he said, seeming satisfied—or maybe just too tired to pursue the point.
Inwardly, Jyn sighed in relief even though she was still slightly nervous.
