Chapter Text
"What's your favourite pokemon type?" A voice interrupted my lunch, I looked up in confusion.
"You don't work here?" I ask as I take a sip of my coke.
"I'm a new start, now favourite type?" They repeated and something felt off but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
"Favourite how? Best combat or best designs?" I ask wanting to know the criteria, their face was completely non descriptive, like a movie background character.
"All, just your favourite." They shrugged and my mind whirls as I thought about it.
"Ghost then?" I asked before I saw the table rushing to meet my face as I fell forwards.
////
I gasped awake in a cold sweat, my eyes darting around the forest I found myself in.
"Did I get motherfuckin isekai'd?" I asked as my eyes landed on a floating candle, Litwick if I remember correctly.
"Lit lit wick." The candle chimed out, the words lost on me but it felt confused.
"Dont worry wee man." I say before cursing slightly as I felt the hand i raised to pet the being heat up.
"Sorry, lady." I corrected myself before sighing, I already knew this would be a common occurrence.
'Should a Litwick be in a random forest?' I mentally asked myself wondering about the implications, weren't they only found in towns or graveyards?
"Lit." The ghost chimed, breaking my thoughts and I nodded.
"Yeah, laying on the ground ain't good for my spine." I joked as I stood up, a weird weight on my hip making itself known.
My eyes looked down to see a pitch black ball, a pokeball if I had ever seen one.
"This wouldn't happen to be yours?" I turned to stare the candle in the eyes an action I never thought would happen to anyone.
"Liiit." The girl drowned out before vanishing in a red light, the ball becoming lighter before slamming back into my thigh.
I reached down to grasp the ball, it felt weird like it was made of glass but didn't reflect at all.
"Guess I should start walking, at least I'm obeying Prof Oak, no walking in tall grass without a partner." I laughed to myself as I spun around, only stopping as I felt slightly dizzy.
"This way it is." I punctuated my words with a step forward.
"Oh, wonder what region this is?" I asked nothing as I walked around, part of me assumed Unova as that was the intro of Litwick but you know what they say about assuming.
"Kanto would be nice, Gengar is the staple of Ghost, but Mimikyu are adorable." I ponder as I walk through the forest, bushes shaking but I ignored them out if habit more than anything.
"Oh, Misdreavus are also cute." I sighed as my mind kept picturing Ghost types, each more adorable than the last.
"Huh, really thought i would fight a pokemon before leaving." I shrugged as I stepped down the hill, being careful as to not tumble and break my neck.
//
The roads were weird compared to back home, it was clearly designed without cars in mind, sure there had been actual roads but not going into the actual city.
"Guess you should come out girl?" I palm the pokeball after seeing no one else without a pokemon, besides a few small children.
"Wiickk." My? girl called out as she hovered in the air, her purple flame on her head burning bright.
"Ah, blow yourself out, I ain't starting a forest fire." I playfully push the candle when it bitched and moaned about being in the pokeball.
"Lit!" The shout garnered some attention and soon we were being bombarded by small children and their unending questions.
"This is your fault." I glare at the candle before turning to the children with a practised smile.
"One at a time please." I ask as their voices overlapped each others rendering the questions inaudible.
"What's that?" One asked, pointing at Litwick with a dirty finger, a tooth missing in their pudgy face.
"You gonna answer lass?" I turned to face my partner who just glared at the group of children.
"Litwick." It rolled its eyes as it spat out its own name like a curse, flame burning brighter before reverting back.
"Its a Litwick, Ghost/Fire if it wasn't obvious." I tell the child with a smirk, one hand reaching over to flick the Ghost.
"You aren't scared of Ghosts?" Another asked for some reason, but my mind answered why that question would be asked Gengar was rumoured to haunt people to death wasn't it?
"Scared of this cutie? Please she couldn't haunt a Caterpie." I laugh as I feel a glare land on me and the gentle heat that only came from proximity to fire.
I turned to look at her, only to see wax as Litwick attempted to glare down at me, her attempts at intimidation failed as she only seemed even more adorable.
"Cute." The gaggle of children seemed to agree with me about Litwick, although one of them seemed more intrigued on the actual pokemon instead of its actions, a small brightly coloured girl in the back.
"Well, its seems this Q&A must end sadly." I smirk down at them relief as I felt the drop of rain him my cheek, lying slightly as I felt nothing but grateful for the excuse to run.
I looked up at Litwick only to see the disappointed glance of someone who saw through your lies completely.
"Blow yourself out." I stuck my tongue out at her before walking towards the building I was before I was intrupted, the red roof acting as my Polaris.
"Wait." I stopped in the middle of the rood, tbe rain going ignores as I start to pat my pockets.
"Nothing, guess we aren't going that way." I told Lit as I turned tk walk down a random alleyway.
"Litt?" Her little face poked out from the top of my head, confusion evident in her eyes.
"No cash and no ID." I tell her as a scruffy looking man jamp out from within the bin beside me.
'What the hell is today? Episode one of an anime, first the isekaiing and now a mugging?' I ask as I lift my hands into an amateur boxing stance.
"Huh? Where d'ya come from kid." The man asked and without thought my mouth opened.
"When a man loves a woman very much." I felt a line of heat drip down my face as I was my usual cheeky shit, the heat not actually hurting.
"Liiiit..." The disappointed voice of my partner filled me with joy.
"Should listen to your partner idiot." The homeless bum joined in on my partner's bullying.
"Wick." My partner thankfully turned to disgust onto the bum.
"I don't need a talking to from a man sleeping in the bins." I eyed the man's stained clothes, I'm hoping the red stains weren't what they looked like.
"Cheeky brat." The man clicked his tongue but I had already mentally checked out of the conversation, walking past to find whatever I was looking for.
"The Pokecenter often helps dealing with 'lost' IDs." The man called out and i stuck my middle finger up at him without looking back, but notably i turned to start walking towards the red roofed building.
"Bloody useful bums." I murmer as I scanned the roof tops for crimson, which was easily found.
'Here's hoping they have rooming for trainers, and that I can pass as one for a few days.' I mentally sighed as I felt water hit my hair, at least it was better than hot wax.
//
A blast of uncomfortable hot air hit the back of my neck as I step through the Pokecenter's door.
"Liiiitwiiiick." I heard the slight awe in my partner's voice as we looked aroundz everything here was sci-fi, and not in the overdone manor.
"Niiiceeee." I matched her with a smirk as I looked for the pink haired nurse.
"Hello, how can I help you two today?" A voice right in front of me scared the shit out of us.
"Motherfu-" I cut myself off with a deep breath, my eyes landing on a puff of pink hair, it seems I had found the famous nurse.
"LIT LIT WICK LIIT WICK." It seemed my partner had no qualms with cursing out our startler as she hide behind my head, spitting metaphorical flames at the pink haired woman.
